Re: File Upload

From all this I cannot figure out how to do 2 things that were apparently discussed quite a bit. I suspect they also pertain to the Image-Upload extension too, which I haven't installed yet but intend to:

1. Retaining the original file name, and
2. Changing the directory where the files are stored.

If these changes were only provided via PM I'd love to get a copy.

Here are a couple of other questions I don't remember anyone asking:

A. How can I eliminate or make it optional to display the File-Upload link on the main breadcrumb menu? Since it appears as a button on individual posts it's available when needed.
B. Assuming I can change the default directory, is there any way to specify a list of folders a user could choose from? Or as an alternative might I modify the code somewhere to specify a folder for particular forums or categories, but use the default otherwise?
C. How can I trigger an event to pop up a "Close/Cancel" option for the file upload window after I click one of the copy buttons? It's a little clumsy to leave that window open.

Thanks for any help. And I'm perfectly willing to pay for any work someone might have to do.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post! Maybe your post count is too low.

That's actually pretty funny. I promise I really do know how to close the window. But that's not what I'm talking about. The users of my board are, to say the least, non-technical, so here's the scenario:

Assume I'm accessing the extension from the button at the bottom because I want to insert the link into the message. Clicking that button opens the File or Image Section window, I upload the file and I click the button to copy the link. When I go to paste the link into the message, however, the File or Image Section window disappears behind it and it's all too easy to just leave it hanging around as an independent browser window.

I'd like it to ask me if I want to close it when I click the copy button.

Any thoughts on my other questions?

Unfortunately, without more context or information about the specific forum or platform being used, it is impossible to give a definitive answer to this question. It seems like the question is related to modifying the settings or code for a forum or website to allow members to upload different types of files, but the specific steps required will depend on the platform and the existing code and configuration.

In general, modifying the settings for file uploads on a website or forum may involve editing configuration files, modifying code or scripts, or changing settings through a user interface or admin panel. It is important to be careful when making changes to code or settings, as incorrect modifications can cause errors or security vulnerabilities.

If you have access to documentation or support resources for the platform or forum you are using, those may provide more specific guidance on how to modify file upload settings. Alternatively, you may want to consider consulting with a developer or experienced user who is familiar with the platform and can provide guidance on how to make the necessary modifications.

Hi, is there any possibility for you to rework this extension according to a similar extension "Imageupload"? So that every user has the option to see and possibly delete the uploaded files in their UCP? Or minimally to have at any time after the file uploads the option for the recorded file option to display HTML and BBCODE for further insertion into a forum or chat? Thank you for info.
