Maybe the first time, you installed an older version of this ext, where it didnt add a new column to phpbb posts?
That would explain it.

That would explain it.
He got that error when he tried to disable the ext and when he clicked Delete data.
Now he can not get it to install again. If I understand right.
I was thinking some columns were left over or like martin said maybe a module left behind.

Does 'Delete data' still show in ACP / Customise / Disabled Extensions for this ext on your sites?

Open the mobiledevice/migrations/mobiledevice_schema.php
'user_agent' => array('VCHAR:255', ''),
If your friend has more than 255 characters it would give that error.

Try to up that amount to 400 and see what happens. Disable, Delete data, Enable after you change that number.
