Is it possible with an extension to charge points for users to purchase avatars to use?

Like I will provide 5 basic avatars for free, but would have 10 epic avatars for 100 points, then some at 150, and 300 for even better designed avatars. I want to provide an incentive using the built-in avatar gallery rather an a complicated avatar shop.
