There is a reason why this is so.
Sorry for my English, I'm Italian!

I dont see the point of removing some code and replacing it with the same code but mixed up ? makes no sense as bots will read it no mater what order it's in.

Bot does not give a damn. It 'a matter of indexing.

The code is not equal. Mine is optimized.

Original:

Code: Select all

<title><!-- IF UNREAD_NOTIFICATIONS_COUNT -->({UNREAD_NOTIFICATIONS_COUNT}) <!-- ENDIF --><!-- IF not S_VIEWTOPIC and not S_VIEWFORUM -->{SITENAME} - <!-- ENDIF --><!-- IF S_IN_MCP -->{L_MCP} - <!-- ELSEIF S_IN_UCP -->{L_UCP} - <!-- ENDIF -->{PAGE_TITLE}<!-- IF S_VIEWTOPIC or S_VIEWFORUM --> - {SITENAME}<!-- ENDIF --></title>
Nome site - Page Title - Sitename

My code:

Code: Select all

<title><!-- IF UNREAD_NOTIFICATIONS_COUNT -->({UNREAD_NOTIFICATIONS_COUNT}) <!-- ENDIF --><!-- IF S_IN_MCP -->{L_MCP} - <!-- ELSEIF S_IN_UCP -->{L_UCP} - <!-- ENDIF -->{PAGE_TITLE}<!-- IF S_VIEWTOPIC --> - {FORUM_NAME}<!-- ENDIF --><!-- IF S_VIEWTOPIC or S_VIEWFORUM --> - {SITENAME}<!-- ENDIF --></title>
Page Title- Forum Title - Site Name
--------------------

Most of the calculation algorithm of Google is based on the title.To the first 2 or 3 words it is given 60% of the trust, and so on.

Don't worry just use google translate. I'm Filipino and English is not my primary language.

I heard google likes the ' | ' instead of the ' - ' (myth)

Only thing I changed about mine. I don't believe there will be any real 'noticeable' difference from my edit. Just figured I add that it though. It does look fancy! :mml:

To clarify, that's what we're all wondering!

This is mine now, updated:

Code: Select all

<title><!-- IF UNREAD_NOTIFICATIONS_COUNT -->({UNREAD_NOTIFICATIONS_COUNT}) <!-- ENDIF --><!-- IF S_IN_MCP -->{L_MCP} | <!-- ELSEIF S_IN_UCP -->{L_UCP} | <!-- ENDIF --><!-- IF S_VIEWTOPIC -->{PAGE_TITLE} | {FORUM_NAME} | {SITENAME}<!-- ELSE -->{PAGE_TITLE} | {SITENAME}<!-- ENDIF --></title>
I too, always prefer the {pagename} BEFORE {sitename}. And had that edited near first install. Updated a bit recently, nothing major. Seo will always have it debatable conversations from my personal experience, so please if you're professional, shed some light on me/us.

Google says this about titles. Wall of text tho..

content content content..

edited code/ realized i made a mistake, now I'm happy with it! Thoughts?

Yes his code works on 3.2, but there is no reason to change it other than your own reasoning.

I do not understand your answer. Could you use anothers words to understand what you mean?
Thanks

Sure!

Yes this code works on phpbb 3.2, however it only seems to be personal preference. It is NOT necessary.
