Sorry to be a pest Ed, but I followed the following instructions to a 'T' and I am getting precisely the same results on my 3.2.3-RC1 ( Martin ;) )
Disable smiliesigns extension and delete data.
Delete existing sign= BBCode in ACP/Posting tab.
Delete all old files from server.
Upload new 1.0.11 files to server.
Enable smiliesigns extension and clear server cache.
And It might be because I am using 3.2.3 RC, I just noticed the extension was developed for 3.1

I am not getting the Smilie Icon or text to display on my bbcode block for me to click and activate the code or the viewing of the images.

My apologies!

Thank you,

You are never a pest. You are helping me out to see if there are issues.

I have not tried this on localhost but I know some ext want work unless you are on a live server.
I know you do not have mchat on your index at your site if that is where you are trying this.
I just tried this on the mchat page and the menu will not open. It works on the index page and in posting.

Have you tried this on posting page to see if it works?
Enable mchat on index for a minute to see if it works there. Then disable mchat on index.
Thanks for your efforts. I'll work on a solution to make this work on those other pages.

I have installed this on a fresh install of phpBB and it's fine.
I have another user testing it out and beside of a typo I had in the lang file, he said it works well.

It works on 3.2.3 rc you wont see the button due to another bbcode ext thats installed your need to add the button to another ext :whistl:

Ed has already determined this and plans to get X-BBcode Silk Buttons added into his extension. He is also trying to work out getting the menu to open in mchat.

I just downloaded and installed that X-BBcode Silk Buttons ext and there is no EVENT in it's template to add anything to it.
I would suggest getting rid of that incomplete ext and go with Dm's Posting Buttons ext or VSE's Advanced BBCode Box ext.

And I still have not made it work in mchat or chat page yet.

I went with VSE's Advanced BBCode Box, as I like the appearance better and certainly a lot more support.

I agree Martin. Although I had never tried out the extension before you installed it for me, it is much more appealing and simpler.

Hey Ed,
I have discovered an error in my Developers Console with Chrome

Code: Select all

[DOM] Found 2 elements with non-unique id #smiliesigns-img: (More info: https://goo.gl/9p2vKq) input#smiliesigns-img.buttons input#smiliesigns-img.abbc3_button
This error was viewed on my portal page, but the error does provide additional details that won't copy/paste when on the index.

Hello. After upgrading the version of "PHP" from 5.5.38 to 5.6.40 "Smilie Signs" do not work. Not happy! Will there be an update?
